Present simple – verb 'to be'
The verb 'to be' can be used in the present simple to talk about things that are happening in the present.
El verbo 'ser' se puede usar en el presente simple para hablar de cosas que están sucediendo en el presente.
I am (yo soy)
You are ( tu eres)
He/she/it is (el/ella es)
We are (somos)
They are (son)
You can also contract the verb (an optional choice) to shorten the word.
También puede contraer el verbo (una opción opcional) para acortar la palabra.
I am happy= I'm happy (estoy feliz)
He is sad=He's sad (es feliz)
You are happy= You're happy (eres feliz)
We are sad= We're sad (Estamos tristes)
They are happy= they're happy (son alegres)
*For Negatives, use "not"
I am not ( no soy)
You are not (no eres)
He/she/it is not (no es)
We are not ( no somos)
They are not (no son)
ex- I am not happy ( no soy feliz)
When asking a question, change the order, placing the verb closer to the beginning (Al hacer una pregunta, cambie el orden, colocando el verbo más cerca del principio)
Ex-
You are from America. (Eres de América) Are you from America? (¿Eres de América?)
The store is here. (La tienda está aquí)
Where is the store? (¿Dónde está la tienda?)
